  • The opportunity

  • As a Mortgage and Protection Adviser with Stan Sherlock Associates you will have administration support to allow you to take time to really understand each client's full financial picture, future aspirations, and personal circumstances.

From first-time buyers to experienced homeowners, you’ll provide genuinely holistic advice tailored, insightful, and grounded in knowledge and experience. This means not only sourcing the most suitable mortgage products but also ensuring that every client has the right protection in place to safeguard their home, income, and loved ones.

You’ll have the leads, freedom and support to grow, both in your career and personally; you'll be able to take ownership of your development with access to ongoing coaching and mentoring from industry experts. You will be part of a close-knit, values-driven culture that celebrates shared success. On a day-to-day basis you'll provide our clients with advice that creates real, long-term impact.

You’ll have the flexibility to work remotely, hybrid, or from our Carlisle head office, with monthly visits if you’re remote.

    The benefits:
    • Salary up to £35,000 + bonus
    • 23 days holiday + bank holidays, Christmas shutdown, and your birthday off.
    • Company pension & cycle-to-work scheme.
    • Death in service benefit (4x salary).
    • Full admin support so you can focus on advice, not paperwork.
    • Regular 1-to-1 development with our Head of Advice.
    • Access to our refill room... because wellbeing matters.
    • A collaborative team environment that celebrates different strengths.
    • We support our people with everything they need to succeed, including personal and career growth, recognition and a great team.
    Your responsibilities will include:
    • Delivering holistic mortgage and protection advice tailored to each client’s goals and risks.
    • Converting warm leads into lasting relationships built on trust and integrity.
    • Work collaboratively with our Business Support Team to ensure flawless delivery.
    • Staying active in marketing campaigns and social media to generate visibility and leads.
    • Maintain high standards of compliance with The Openwork Partnership and SSA.
    • Proactively engage with existing clients and ensure long-term financial wellbeing.
    • If you're working remotely, you need to be willing to travel to Carlisle once a month.
  • What will you need to succeed?

    • You must be a qualified adviser (with CeMAP or equivalent) and have experience in mortgage and protection advice.
    • You will be motivated, experienced, and committed to excellence in service – you’re ready to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact.
    • Trust is a non-negotiable for you.
    • You believe in the importance of holistic advice. You know protection is not optional, it’s essential and you communicate that clearly.
    • You’re accountable, results-focused, and never make excuses.
    • You thrive in a culture of continuous improvement and shared success.
    • You’re a confident communicator, both in person and virtually.

We have a fantastic opportunity for the right person to join our team. If you are a results driven Mortgage and Protection Adviser, who is passionate about client care and success... we want to hear from you!

Stan Sherlock Associates is part of The Openwork Partnership, who are one of the UKs largest and longest established financial advice networks. There are many benefits of being part of something bigger including the ownership structure - The Openwork Partnership is owned by its firms, Bain Capital and its employees so is somewhat of a democracy. It boasts a broad proposition with deep ties to providers and has some serious resources at its disposal. It puts the development of its colleagues, advisers and firm support staff first with its very own Business School. The Openwork Foundation, who have donated over £22m to UK registered charities since it was founded, is a great opportunity for everyone to get involved and give back to the community it serves.
